From April 1 - May 30, and again in November, Yakutat's Situk River hosts the finest wild steelhead run anywhere in the world. The Situk River, near Yakutat, hosts the largest wild-stock Steelhead population in Alaska. The pristine crystal-clear river provides a most spectacular and beautiful arena for this simultaneously bountiful and elusive quarry. Situk River Steelhead average an honest 10 to 12 pounds of explosive fury! Alaska's best kept fishing secret is Yakutat Bay's tremendous King Salmon fishing in April, May and June.
